The amount and type of fat contained in the diet will affect the cholesterol levels within the body. There are certain types of fat that can cause the levels of cholesterol in the blood to rise.

The fats that are in the diet can be split into three categories such are monounsaturated, saturated and polyunsaturated. The saturated fats are the ones that have the ability to have a negative impact on the cholesterol levels within the body.

Saturated fats are often referred to as the bad fats. These bad fats can be found in food products such as meats and dairy products that are high in fat such as full fat milk and butter. Saturated fats are very easy to recognise as they are the ones that are solid when they are at room temperature. The best known sources for this fat are butter, lard and vegetable shortening.

Granola can be a very healthy food to eat and it is packed full of nutrients. Although this is a healthy option it can also be an unhealthy food. The first thing that you should do is to become familiar with the ingredients that you should involve in order to have keep it a healthy option.

The best thing to do is to families yourself with the ingredients which are in proper granola because it will mean you are able to avoid having calories, sugar, fats and oils. All of the unnecessary which get added are what can make it an unhealthy option.

This does not need to be an unhealthy food option when you buy the prepacked versions or you could always make your own. It is very easy to make your own version of this popular breakfast cereal and it really only takes a few ingredients. When you make your own you have the ability to remove the sugar and other unwanted ingredients.

When granolas is made in the correct manner one mouthful can contain enough to give all of the fibre, energy, and protein which you require to have a healthy start to the morning. Granola which is packed full of seeds, nuts, oats and dried fruit will supply the body with what it needs for daily requirements. If you chose to make your own then you have the ability to make it low in sugar and calories whilst packing it full of vitamin E and fibre.

Pumpkin seed are a handy source of zinc and the flax seeds are a good source of Omega three. These are both very important components for ensuring that you have a well balanced diet.
